I didn't see this pic first time around, only when I went back looking for a blog pic... and it's ended up on the front page! And I genuinely thought they wouldn't publish it. Pleasant surprise.
I work as a full-time press photographer for a small local newspaper in provincial New Zealand. Ever since I began this job I have stumbled across images I have captured that are technically 'mistakes' or don't fit into the news/sport genre of photojournalism. Normally these images are deleted as unworthy of attention or consideration. However I have decided to preserve these in this blog as images that ARE worthy of attention. I will attempt to save one image daily from deletion. My own crusade against the destruction of my artistic self in this demanding and stressful media environment.
